FROM NIKON TO FUJI

I used to shoot Nikon, but since I switched to my Fuji X-H1 I never looked back. Mainly for its fantastic image quality, but also for it’s weight. And the dead quiet shutter. Also, the skintones are just fantastic. Any minuses? Sure, it eats batteries like nothing else, but stock up and you are good to go.

For that camera, I use a Fujinon 35 mm f/1,4 and a Fujinon 56 mm f/1,2. The 35 mm is on basically all the time, mainly becasue it is a fantastic all round objective, and the 56 mm is for portraits only.

CAPTURE ONE 12

For may years I used Lightroom and Lightroom only. Rarely did I even visit Photoshop, and when that happened it was only for sharpening. With Capture One, I don’t even have to switch software for that, as the sharpening tool i CO does the job as good as Photoshop. But I have to admit the switch caused an interruption in my work flow, one I am still trying to learn.

If you want to try Capture One, use this link. It gets you 10% off, I believe. Also, make sure to type in AMBGUTHED on checkout as it should save you some money. According to the good folks at Phase One, I make a buck as well.

DRONEOGRAPHY

I also use drones. What started out as a dip of the foot has blown into full fledged obsession. I am using the DJI Phantom 4 Pro+, and I keep a Mavic Pro for when I travel. And there will be an Inspire 1 added sometime soon.

PROFOTO

It took me a while to warm up to flashes and artificial light. I used to say I didnät need it. Well, I was wrong.

Today, I love it. I got a hold of a pair of Profot B1s, and I’ve gradually expanded my collection of light modifiers to them. They’re not brand new, but still they deliver for what I need. A reliable, fool proof output of light that doesn’t change over time. And as long as they do, I am hanging on to them.

For the B1s, I use umbrellas and my absolute favourite - the Profoto Beauty Dish. This thing is awesome and I go nowhere without it. It’s bulky, but it is worth it.
